Client: A hilarious and delightful family with three young children
Space: Dining Room and Powder Room
Functional Objective: This young family wanted their dining room to reflect their joyful spirit and fun style as well as provide a gorgeous welcome upon guests’ entry into their home. Additionally, they wanted the space to easily host friends and family for shared meals.
We designed a floor plan to account for the foot traffic that often flows through the space, and also highlighted the statement pieces in the room.
Aesthetic Objective: This room had a lovely foundation with existing wall detail and color. The wall art was ideal for the space and provided inspiration for the colors we brought into the room. We designed a custom-made, live-edge dining table that provides function but also a beautiful aesthetic driving the design of the room.
Highlights: The room is gorgeous, but also durable. A lovely (synthetic) rug pulls colors from the art and the head chairs feature a fun fabric while the side chairs are durable (and wipeable). In the powder room, we selected a bright, vibrant, and durable new wallpaper that works beautifully with the existing fixed elements (vanity and countertop). It also brings in a big dose of color and pattern to coordinate with the vintage travel poster that reminds our clients of their family travel.
