Client Journal: Bright + Colorful Bedrooms

Client: A family of 5 who thrive on fun colors and patterns

Space: A large main bedroom, the downstairs guest bedroom, and hallway.

Functional Objective: To create space in both bedrooms for lounge/work space while exuding personality and pizzazz to the fullest.

Aesthetic Objective: Incorporate bold patterns throughout to create visually interesting spaces.  The main bedroom is a colorful refuge away from the demands of daily life. We layered lots of colors and patterns while balancing them with moments of quiet, calm neutrals. The luxe blackout drapes provide hotel-level darkness for sleep and a pair of three drawer dressers flank the custom headboard while offering lots of storage. The round pedestal table can serve as a desk when needed, or a spot to set a cup of coffee.

The guest bedroom received a big dose of color with a statement wallpaper behind the bed. A desk provides a spot for guests to work, if needed.

The long hallway was given a makeover with family pictures, art, and album-inspired prints.

Highlights: Color and pattern reign supreme in this family-friendly home with a contagious sense of humor.
