One Room Challenge: Powder Room Storage (Week 5)

We’re in the home stretch of the One Room Challenge!  I’m here today to share my selections for our powder room storage.  (Also, #icymi I shared a bonus blog post earlier this week with suggestions of gifts for Mom that she’ll truly love.  And they can come together super last minute. Check it out!). Next week we’ll all be sharing our final reveals, and I can not WAIT to see the gorgeousness!  I also can’t wait to share with you my final reveal.  There’s not a whole lot of mystery left in this little room, but I do have a few surprises up my sleeve.  Annnnd, I’m super excited to share that I’ve hired a pro to take my reveal photos!  Catherine Nguyen‘s talented self agreed to snap this tiny space.  If you’re new here, click through to follow along on the progress of our Powder Room:

Week 1 Befores | Week 2 Wallpaper | Week 3 Mirror | Week 4 Sink Skirt

This week I’m sharing a few hardworking storage elements.  Before this challenge, we had a medicine cabinet as the mirror, which provided just enough storage for some basic first aid items, backup soap, and a few other small things.  Now that that piece is gone, I had to look elsewhere for storage.

Under the new sink skirt is the obvious place, so I took measurements of that space, and set out to find a little shelf or cart that would fit.

This one from Urban Outfitters was a top contender:

I love the simplicity of the design. I have a piece from the same company in our guest shower, and it’s so chic. But, this was a bit out of my budget at $69.

After some more digging, I found several options on Wayfair.  This one was just the right size, right price, and had good reviews:

It was super easy to assemble, and sure enough it fit perfectly!

 

 

We can reach under to grab what’s needed, or roll the whole thing out.  It’s the perfect spot for the larger items like TP, extra soap, hand towels, etc.

For bandaids and ointment, I picked up an adorable little metal first aid box.

 

 

It’s deceptively small at 8″x6″x3″, but just the right size for first aid necessities.  The glossy white metal finish is so charming and retro.

These two hardworking pieces are just right for our little space.  Next week I’ll share a few more items that make this room work well for our family.  And I should have some gorgeous shots to share from Cat.
